Catch-Up

The following are some things that have occurred the past few weeks in no particular order except that in which I think of them.

  • Steve has had track meets the last three weekends. One to Boise, one to Pocatello and then off to Montana. On the way back from Pocatello the bus gave out just past Malad and stranded them on the side of the freeway for two hours. That was not a fun evening for either of us, but more so for Steve.

  • In the realm of running, Steve's coach ordered some blood work on him after not being able to hit some of the harder work outs that he is used to hitting. The coach suspected low iron levels, but it turned out to be a Vitamin D deficiency. He is now taking 50,000 IUs of Vitamin D each week for the next 6 months. Then it comes down to 5,000 a day for another little while. He's only taken it for two weeks so far, so we're still trying to gauge what it's doing for him.

  • One of the Saturdays that Steve was out of town, I had a very enjoyable craft time with Julie. Here is the fruits of our labor.

They are called wall dots. I found the idea while browsing the internet looking for monster fabric. But, they were super easy to make and I think they will look great on the wall of our baby room or "space" or whatever it ends up being.

  • I've been doing lots of research on baby items because many people keep asking what we want or need and I honestly had no idea whatsoever. I gave Steve the job of deciding what he would like in a jogging stroller for obvious reasons. He talked to some folks and completed that mission. I also went down to a fun store in SLC with Kelly and pushed some strollers around and played with the car seats. She was a vast source of knowledge for an overwhelmed first time parent with little time to research. So, thanks Kelly!

  • This is me at 30 weeks of pregnancy.

And this is my belly at 31 weeks of pregnancy.

This baby is going to be here before we know it. Today I'm feeling pretty excited, but other days that thought really scares me.

  • My boss finally said that he'd like to have my replacement start in mid-March, just in case. I feel much better about that than the "we'll wait til after tax season" plan. They've been good to me and I'd like to leave them in good hands. And if they are in good hands then it lowers the risk of them calling all the time to ask questions or wanting  me to come in for this or that. So, the search begins for the new office manager. My boss interviewed one lady today, but the tattoos she had and the green gum she was chewing took her right out of the runnings.

  • I got my hair (and bangs) trimmed last weekend. When I got to my friend's house, I was standing in the kitchen chatting for a minute and her four year old daughter was standing by just looking up quite intently at me. Then, she reached up and touched my stomach and said, "I like this belly sticking out on you". It made me smile. A much nicer thing to say than the lady who asked when I was due and then said "Whoa, that's gonna be a good sized baby".
Well, that's all I can thing of for now. Tootles.
